Have a Heart!

My doozy of a heart surgery will happen in the heart transplant room. Can you imagine your heart being so bad it would need to be removed and replaced with a better one? That sounds familiar.

I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit in you. I will take out your stony, stubborn heart and give you a tender, responsive heart.” Ezekiel‬ ‭36‬:‭26‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Why does God think we need a new heart? Is it really that bad?

Jesus said, “Out of men’s hearts, come evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, greed, malice, deceit, lewdness, envy, slander, arrogance and folly. All these evils come from inside and make a man unclean.” Mark 7:21-23

Jeremiah 17:9 says, “The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure.”

Yep, it really is that bad!

Since we all have an incurable heart disease called sin, the only remedy is a heart transplant. The good news is that God has a perfect heart, and He loves to donate hearts like His to anyone who will be a willing recipient.

If you’ve been one of those recipients you may be wondering, “If I have a heart like God’s, then how come I still sin?”

Great question!

The heart God gives us must be allowed to adapt to its new environment. Cardiologists say when someone has a heart transplant their body naturally views the donor heart as foreign and attempts to fight and reject it.

Have you ever fought with God over who’s going to control you? I have.

For God’s donor heart to assimilate into our body we have to stop fighting Him and completely surrender to His will. The apostle Paul writes:

Do not let any part of your body become an instrument of evil to serve sin. Instead, give yourselves completely to God, for you were dead, but now you have new life.” Romans‬ ‭6‬:‭13‬

Displaying the heart of God is a mystery that takes time to unfold. I love how the Passion Translation puts it:

There is a divine mystery—a secret surprise that has been concealed from the world for generations, but now it’s being revealed, unfolded and manifested for every holy believer to experience. Living within you is the Christ who floods you with the expectation of glory!” Colossians‬ ‭1‬:‭26‬-‭27‬a ‭TPT‬‬

Have you had the divine heart transplant yet? If not, Father is offering it to you. All you have to do is ask Him.

It’s the greatest experience ever!

Anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!” 2 Corinthians‬ ‭5‬:‭17‬ ‭

P.S. Some have asked when my heart surgery will be. I’m told October or November. I will let you know when I get the exact date. Thank you again for your prayers!
