Years ago, a pastor shocked Marci and I right before we were to lead worship at his church. He told us, “Don’t sing about the blood. We don’t want to offend anybody.”
Sadly, the pastor and his wife eventually divorced and the church closed its doors.
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes” Romans 1:16.
Remove the blood from the gospel and you remove the power.
Gospel means good news. A bloodless gospel is not good news.
Paul wrote to some believers who were being taught a bloodless gospel…
“I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you to live in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel—which is really no gospel at all.” Galatians 1:6
Some teachers today say the blood sacrifice was man’s idea, not God’s. Scripture, however, teaches that long before man existed, it was God’s plan for Jesus to die a bloody death for our sins. Christ is called “the Lamb who was slaughtered before the world was made.” Revelation 13:8
The blood of Christ is essential for man to be forgiven by God. It not only pays our debt, it purifies our hearts and empowers us to live holy lives.
“In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace” Ephesians 1:7.
“But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, His Son, purifies us from all sin.” 1 John 1:7
Some people, like the pastor I mentioned, will always find the blood of Christ offensive. It is meant to offend. Paul wrote, “If I were no longer preaching salvation through the cross of Christ, no one would be offended.” Galatians 5:11
Like Paul, may we never be ashamed of the blood of Christ. Preaching the necessity of the cross for salvation may bloody well get us killed, but that’s ok. I’d much rather die for telling the truth than live promoting a lie.
“And they overcame him (Satan) by the blood of the Lamb” Revelation 12:11
Amen to that brother Walt! It’s Yeshua’s Blood and not our own goodness. Christ Jesus is the source of our confidence.

Amen Taurus. What can wash away my sins? Nothing but the blood of Jesus.

An excellent and needed article about the significance of the blood sacrifice of our Lord and Savior, fore which without Christ Jesus would neither be Savior or Lord.

Great and needed article to remind us of the importance of the blood sacrifice of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. For which without the shedding of his blood Christ Jesus would be neither Savior or Lord.
