Who Gave You the Authority?

Get this! We have a former marine running for governor of Colorado. He rescues women and children in crisis, and at times has helped free those battling demonic oppression.

Candace Owens recently interviewed Victor Marx on her podcast. At one point, she said, “I’m Catholic, so the idea of you not being a priest and being able to exorcize demons is something that I’m interested in. I would just like to know—who granted you that authority?”

His answer was spot on.

“(Jesus) gave us all authority. He said, ‘I give you authority to trample serpents, to cast out demons.’ And I actually believe it. I believe I can do what Christ did. Jesus said His followers would be able to do even more than He did. I just believe it!”

He’s right. Jesus did say that.

As a child, Marx endured unimaginable physical, emotional, and sexual abuse. By the time he was 17, he had lived in 17 homes and attended 14 schools. But God, who is a Father to the fatherless, revealed His love to Victor and healed his broken heart.

After Marx became a Christian he began speaking at youth prisons—to kids who had committed horrendous crimes. He told Candace Owens God gave him a love for these incarcerated kids—“to bring them hope. And it was there that many of them asked for prayer. And when I prayed for them, they would often manifest demonic influence or oppression. And the Lord taught me how to pray with authority.”

Victor Marx often admits he is an imperfect person in constant need of God’s grace. His deep love for people caused him to enter politics, knowing policies affect people. Many were shocked when he won the primary and became the Republican nominee for governor. Some say he has a huge disadvantage because he is conservative and has never been a politician.

Our family and friends are praying Victor Marx becomes our next governor. I like his plans on how to improve Colorado—like ending soft-on-crime policies that have caused our state to be ranked number 8 for violent crime. Marx also wants to shrink government spending to make it affordable again to live here. Most importantly, he wants to see us return to common sense, where hard work is rewarded, families are supported, and freedom is defended.

It’s hard to trust politicians. I’m not putting my faith in Victor Marx. The Holy Spirit is my Governor. My prayer for Marx, and all in authority is that they would allow the Holy Spirit to govern their decision making. When that happens, justice and righteousness follow, blessing the land and causing people to flourish.

Colorado could use some flourishing. Couldn’t we all?

“When the godly are in authority, the people rejoice. But when the wicked are in power, they groan.” Proverbs 29:2

“For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.” Ephesians‬ ‭6‬:‭12‬ ‭
