Marx Madness

No man’s teachings have led to the deaths of more people than Karl Marx. What baffles me is how popular his beliefs are today. Why is that?

You may ask, “Walt, why are you writing about Karl Marx? I thought your Heartspills were all about magnifying Christ.”

Telling others about the staggering beauty of Jesus Christ is my life’s mission and passion, but scripture also admonishes me to:

“Take no part in the worthless deeds of evil and darkness; instead, expose them.” Ephesians‬ ‭5‬:‭11‬ ‭

Exposing the evil deeds and dark character of Karl Marx will help us understand the growing fascination people have with an ideology that has not only caused the deaths of over 100 million people, but is now threatening to destroy Western civilization. More importantly, it will help us know how to pray and take authority over the demons behind what I call “Marx Madness.”

Yes. Demons.

Though he claimed to be an atheist, many of Marx’s writings reveal his belief in the existence of Satan and God. Marx once wrote:

“I long to take vengeance on the One Who rules from above.”

Another time he wrote:

“Thus heaven I’ve forfeited, I know it full well. My soul, once true to God, is chosen for hell.”

Those close to Marx described him in demonic terms: His son wrote to him as “my dear devil.” His father suggested that he was “governed by a demon.” His friend Friedrich Engels referred to him as a “monster of ten thousand devils.”

Marx often quoted the demon Mephistopheles’s line from the legend of Faust: “Everything that exists deserves to perish.”

In his poem “Human Pride,” Marx doesn’t write about improving the world, but about ruining it and enjoying watching it happen. He also had no problem ruining the lives of those around him. He cheated on his wife and impregnated their housemaid. He then refused to take responsibility for the child he sired. He called the family unit “disgusting.” Marx told his children an ongoing bedtime story about a toymaker who sold his soul to the Devil. (Marx’s two daughters both committed suicide.)

Marx hated work and spent his life mooching off others. He never created wealth. His obsession was the redistribution of wealth created by others. His mother reportedly said she wished Karl would start earning capital instead of just writing about it.

Multitudes are being hoodwinked today by Marx’s lies. Some even say if Jesus walked the earth today He would be a Marxist, taking from the rich to give to the poor.

Karl Marx isn’t our enemy. Satan is. Scripture warned us of this powerful end-times delusion where Satan deceives those who choose to believe his lies, and refuse to love and accept the truth.

I’m sure many of today’s Marx-inspired socialists mean well. The desire to lift people out of poverty comes from a good place. Karl Marx, however, didn’t love the people he pretended to care about. He didn’t love the poor—he hated and envied the rich.

Karl Marx inspired many followers with his teaching. But like the devil, he was a deceiver and destroyer—a wolf in sheep’s clothing.

In contrast, Christ, the Good Shepherd lays down His life for His followers because He loves them so much.

Two leaders—one would lead millions to death, the other to abundant life! Two men saying, “Follow me!”

I have decided to follow Jesus!

Lord, open the eyes of those who have believed Marx’s utopian lie that we can have a beautiful world without You.

“There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way to death.” Proverbs 16:25.

“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” John 10:10
