Is Anyone Thirsty?

While visiting a large church one Sunday evening, Spirit-inspired prophetic words were being spoken to people prior to the pastor’s message. Many were encouraged by what God was saying to them. I learned later that my wife Marci was disappointed she wasn’t receiving a word from the Lord.

A bit discouraged and thirsty, Marci left her seat to seek out a water fountain. Unable to find one, she returned and sat down.

Just before the pastor started his message he held up a water bottle and asked if anyone was thirsty. Marci’s hand shot up immediately.

The pastor flung the water bottle out into the crowd and it landed right in Marci’s open hand! Bullseye! We were shocked!

Coincidence? I don’t think so. I have never seen a pastor hurl a water bottle into a crowd. Also, Marci is not known for her catching skills, so to have it land right in her hand was another miracle.

This may seem silly to some, but if you know the Father, you’re aware He cares about every little thing in His children’s lives.

“The Lord directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives.” Psalms‬ ‭37‬:‭23‬ ‭

Every detail? Seriously? That would mean He is thinking of us and watching us every second of our lives.

“Can a man hide himself in secret places so that I cannot see him? declares the Lord.” Jeremiah 23:22

“The eyes of the Lord are everywhere” Proverbs‬ ‭15‬:‭3‬ .

I don’t mind being under that kind of constant surveillance!

If God delights in every detail of our lives, then all day long He is looking for ways to communicate His love.

“The eyes of the Lord search the whole earth in order to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to Him.” ‭‭2 Chronicles‬ ‭16‬:‭9‬ ‭

Wow! When we will fully commit to following Christ, God will go to great lengths to bless us and strengthen our faith in Him..

Those blessings will come in a myriad of ways—an answer to prayer—strength to overcome temptation—

Or perhaps even a water bottle delivered via airmail to a daughter of His who was thirsty to receive an encouraging word from Him!

“If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink.” John‬ ‭7‬:‭37‬ ‭

“Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.” 1 Peter‬ ‭5‬:‭7‬ ‭
