Living Proof Jesus Lives

My dear friend Andre and I are on the leadership team of Men of Integrity. He lovingly calls me his blue-eyed soul brother. His story is amazing! I share it with his permission.

While in prison, Andre founded Men of Integrity and gave it that name because that’s who he desperately wanted to become.

For 20 years Andre was a cocaine addict. Arrested in 1998 and sent to prison for mortgage fraud, he told us, “Some thieves rob you holding a knife. I held a pen!”

After six failed marriages, Andre and his lovely wife Geri have now been married 11 years and he has truly become a man of integrity. All the men in our group deeply love and respect him for his humility and transparency. Andre often tells us, “If the Holy Spirit can transform a knucklehead like me, He can change you.”

One big reason I know Jesus is alive is because of people like Andre. He is living proof that Christ alone has the power to heal broken people. I’ve seen it happen to many of my friends. Some were thieves, drug addicts, drunks, adulterers, homosexuals, and prostitutes. Then Jesus came inside them and made all things new!

Self-help books and therapy sessions can do some good but they can’t get to the root of our problem. Our hearts are wicked and we need a heart transplant. My beloved brother Andre exchanged his heart for Christ’s and now he is living the life he was made for.

Spend time with Andre and I guarantee you will never feel more loved. You will taste the goodness of God that turned a sinner into a saint, a knucklehead into a man of integrity.
