Truth Never Changes

One reason it’s hard to trust politicians is that their beliefs often shift to conform to the changing culture. They live to be popular. Here are a few examples:

In 1996 Chuck Schumer argued for photo ID, because he wanted to ensure voters showing up at the polls were who they said they were. Today he says voter ID is racist. What shifted in his mind?

In 2008 President Obama said, “I believe marriage is between a man and a woman. I am not in favor of gay marriage.” Four years later he changed his mind. Why?

In 2014 Obama eloquently said, while passing an immigration bill, “If you’re a criminal, you’ll be deported. If you plan to enter the U.S. illegally, your chances of getting caught and sent back just went up. The actions I’m taking are not only lawful, they’re the kinds of actions taken by every single Republican President and every single Democratic President for the past half century.”

Then in 2020 Obama’s VP and successor, Joe Biden, ignored immigration laws, calling them racist. He opened wide the borders, allowing millions of unvetted foreigners into the country, causing catastrophic mayhem and chaos. Why?

Many reasons exist, but the most obvious one was because the culture had shifted. For decades, Hollywood has gradually been reshaping culture. Through constant exposure to ungodly ideologies, Hollywood has normalized behaviors that once were viewed as nonsense.

Besides the changing culture, many politicians are chameleons, conforming to their environment when convenient, aligning with the ideologies they think will gain them the most power.

Scripture says, “Do not be conformed to this world.” Romans 12:1. It takes courage to not conform to the ways of the world. Fear of losing friends and family often makes people want to blend in with the masses. Jesus said:

“Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.” Matthew 7:13,14

It would be easy to get upset at those who lack the courage to not conform to the ever-changing culture. That’s just what the devil would want. Instead, let’s turn our eyes on Jesus, the One who never changes. Let’s love the timid and the weak who fear man more than God.

Thankfully, many Democrat politicians have had the spine to speak out against the insane ideologies of the far left. They no longer recognize their party. Also, we are witnessing a spiritual awakening in our nation. I have met so many people who no longer care what the world thinks. Their primary passion is to please God.

Truth never changes because Jesus is the Truth—and He is “the same yesterday and today and forever.” Hebrews 13:8. I won’t let this ever-changing world squeeze me into its mold. Instead, I will let God shape me into His mold—which is the image of Christ.

God is the potter, and we are His clay. When He shapes us, the result is always a Masterpiece!

“Do not be shaped by this world; instead be changed within by a new way of thinking. Then you will be able to decide what God wants for you; you will know what is good and pleasing to Him and what is perfect.” Romans‬ ‭12‬:‭2‬ ‭NCV‬‬
