My liberal friends are afraid the MAGA movement is destroying America. My conservative friends fear socialism is destroying America.
I’ve got great news for you both. If you will love Jesus and be filled with the Holy Spirit, you won’t fear anyone or anything!
“The Lord is with me; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?” Psalms 118:6
“The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear?” Psalm 27:1
“But I fear for my children and my grandchildren’s future.” I can see why someone would say that. I too am concerned about the direction the world is heading, but I’m not afraid.
One of my favorite promises in scripture is, “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” 2 Timothy 1:7. When you are controlled by a spirit of fear, you don’t have a sound mind—meaning you can’t think straight.
Mainstream media thrives off instilling fear. So does Satan. He wants us afraid of each other, for fear leads to hate. Perfect love casts out fear. When I love you, I’m not afraid of you, nor can I hate you. Your beliefs or opinion of me doesn’t intimidate or frighten me, for the only opinion that matters is God’s.
“Fearing people is a dangerous trap.” Proverbs 29:25
It’s wise to know what’s going on in the world, but it shouldn’t overwhelm us. Instead, be overwhelmed by the love of Jesus.
Politics are not our main problem. We live in a sick world where sick things happen. Sadly, innocent people are going to get hurt—on both sides.
“Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell.” Matthew 10:28
Whom shall I fear? God.
If a person has not put their faith in the blood of Jesus to take away their sin, they have every right to be afraid. Their future is terrifying. A healthy, holy fear of God is what saves us. It not only saves us, but it fills us with indescribable joy!
“But for you who fear my name, the Sun of Righteousness will rise with healing in his wings. And you will go free, leaping with joy like calves let out to pasture.” Malachi 4:2
Don’t fear any political party or politician, or let them steal your joy. They will all be forgotten soon. Fear God and live to please Him. A thousand years from now, that’s all that will have mattered!
“Don’t fear anything except the Lord of the armies of heaven! If you fear him, you need fear nothing else.” Isaiah 8:13

Another insightful, truth-packed blog, Walt! Seems like the world is getting more and more polarized. This can lead to fear. But if we cling to the Lord, we need not be afraid. Thank you for reminding us! And please give Marci a hug for me!

Thank you for this message, I have a wonderful sister in Christ that has had seizures all of her life(Jenifer) she uses her story to bring glory to God. She is on a new medication and she is hallucinating this morning and it’s scary. Malachi 4:2 was just what the doctor ordered.
