The Wisest Decision Ever

Who marries a guy making $4 an hour? My wife, that’s who! At least I know she didn’t marry me for my money!

The longer we’ve been together, the more convinced I am that God’s ways pay off, especially in marriage. One of my favorite sayings of Jesus is. “Wisdom is proved right by all its results.” Luke 7:35.

Jesus was simply saying, “You will know in the end if the choice you made was a wise one.”

The wisest choice anyone can make is to follow Christ. The results prove it. Peace in a stressed out world and joy that is indescribable are just some of the benefits of a relationship with Jesus. I’m not saying life is perfect. Marci and I have had countless difficulties through the years. Jesus said suffering would accompany those who choose to follow Him. Dying to self is painful, but it produces a life like no other.

Today I have given you the choice between life and death, between blessings and curses. Now I call on heaven and earth to witness the choice you make. Oh, that you would choose life!” Deuteronomy‬ ‭30‬:‭15‬

To choose life is to choose Christ. He is the “life that is truly life!” 1 Timothy 6:19

I am confident when God welcomes me to my eternal home, the choice to follow Jesus will prove to have been the wisest decision I ever made in my life. The second wisest was to marry my beautiful, Jesus-loving bride, Marci.

The third wisest decision was to quit my $4 an hour job!

“My cup overflows. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever.” Psalm‬ ‭23‬:‭5b-6
