Son-Kissed

Our backyard faces Pikes Peak. When the morning sun rises and kisses the mountain, it is breathtaking. Likewise, when the risen Son kisses someone, the result is glorious.

Sleeping Beauty was awakened by a kiss. So were we.

We didn’t invent kissing. God did.

Five times the apostles tell the church to, “greet one another with a holy kiss.” The psalmist wrote, “Kiss His SonPsalm 2:12. Luke tells of the woman who knelt before Jesus and “washed his feet with her tears . . . and she kissed His feet” Luke 7:38.

I get the idea that God likes kissing!

Kissing is intimate. It requires closeness.

We are the bride of Christ. How do we respond to His kiss? How do we kiss someone back who is invisible?

By worshipping Him.

Holiness is how we worship Him.

“Worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness.” Psalm 96:9. I love that the Greek word most often translated “worship” in the Bible is proskuneo, meaning “to kiss.”

And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him.” Romans‬ ‭12‬:‭1‬

Jesus said when we love others, we are loving Him. He said, “whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.” Matthew 25:40

True worship is a life of holiness lived in total surrender to God, obeying the promptings of the Holy Spirit to love everyone we meet with the love we have received from Jesus. This is holiness in action. This is one way we kiss the Son.

If you have been kissed by the Son, kiss Him back by loving the people in your life. Honor Him by living a holy life, set apart for Him. He is worthy of that and so much more!
