Is the Impossible Possible?

In 2004 my mother had a brain stem stroke. Her doctors told us they had never seen anyone recover from a stroke of this magnitude.

While she was in the hospital I would go into her room after visiting hours and pray for healing. We also enlisted an army of people to pray. After several days, the doctors recommended we take mom off life-support, for there was little hope. Most of our friends also thought it was her time to graduate to heaven.

During this ordeal the Lord led me to Luke 18:1 where “Jesus told a story to his disciples to show that they should always pray and never give up. Jesus tells about a widow whose repeated petition caused the judge to finally grant her request.

I began praying for mom differently, sometimes crying out, “Daddy, You promised if I believe, I would see miracles.” At first my prayers were selfish because I didn’t want to lose mom. Then I sensed the Lord say, “Pray that I heal her so others will see my glory and my fame will spread.”

Then it happened. God healed my mom!

Her doctor was speechless and one of the nurses told us with tears, “God truly did something special here today.”

Mom came off life-support and lived another 12 years in good health until the Lord took her at the age of 86.

If you are still believing for a miracle, don’t give up. Trust Him and know He is faithful. He always keeps His promises.

I don’t know why God doesn’t heal every time we pray, but I know He is good and He wants us to believe for the impossible. For nothing is impossible for Him!

“I am the Lord, the God of all mankind. Is anything too hard for me?” Jeremiah 32:27

For nothing will be impossible with God.” Luke‬ ‭1‬:‭37‬ ‭

“Why does it seem incredible to any of you that God can raise the dead?”
‭‭Acts ‭26‬:‭8‬ ‭

“Then Jesus told him, “Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.” John 20:29

  2. Renee and I remember well he days after Georgia’s stroke. Her healing defied medicine and science; it was Holy Spirit all the way. After some rehabilitation you would never suspect, just a short time before, the medical team asked the family to pull the plug on her……… There was no hope until the Lord revealed His plan by a complete healing. Thank you Jesus for the extra years you gave her!
