Why the Confusion?

“God is not the author of confusion but of peace.” 1 Corinthians 14:33.

Are you like me, shocked at what’s happening in our world? People have gone crazy! I watched the interview this week of a lady who hired someone to pour drain cleaner in her eyes so she would become blind. I used to say, “Nothing surprises me anymore.” Well, that sure did!

Transableism is on the rise. It’s the desire to acquire a disability through choice rather than happenstance. Some individuals want to go so far as to have healthy limbs amputated! Many who suffer from transableism compare themselves to transgenders, feeling they were born in the wrong body and should have the right to mutilate themselves to correct the mistake.

We live in a confused world, and it’s getting worse every day. There is a reason for the confusion. More precisely, there is a person behind it. Satan is the author of confusion, and he is writing a horror story out of the lives of so many.

Scripture says the opposite of confusion is peace. Confusion is a state of mind that comes from hearing conflicting messages and not knowing which one to believe. Peace is also a state of mind. It comes from hearing God’s voice and agreeing with what He says.

Eve had peace with God until Satan came with a conflicting message. He told her she wouldn’t die if she ate the fruit. That’s not what God told her. Confused, she agrees with the devil and loses her peace, plus a lot more. I can’t condemn her. I’ve agreed with Satan more times than I want to admit.

The devil’s strategy hasn’t changed. He still tempts us with, “Did God really say? Did He really say you are supposed to be the gender you are? Did He really say you shouldn’t have sex outside of marriage? Did He really say you shouldn’t love the things of this world?” Satan wants us confused. He doesn’t want us to believe that God’s ways are best for us.

“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord. As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.” ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭55‬:‭8‬-‭9

When I’m feeling confused, I need to ask God for wisdom. My thoughts and feelings can’t always be trusted. I want to know what He thinks! That’s why it’s so vital we study His word, know His thoughts, and then agree with Him. The result will be peace. “The wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable.” James 3:17

Jesus said, “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. John 16:33.

Again He says, “Peace I leave with you; My (perfect) peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be afraid. (Let My perfect peace calm you in every circumstance and give you courage and strength for every challenge.) John 14:27 Amplified Bible

Are you confused about anything? Ask the Lord what He thinks about it. Search the scriptures for His direction. Agree with Him and let His peace rule in your heart. Nothing is better than the peace of God!

Lord Jesus, thank You for Your perfect peace. I want to experience it more and more. Expose any lies I am currently believing. Speak to those confused areas in my mind that don’t agree with Your thoughts.

  2. This is so very true and a wonderful share Walt! It’s curious that you posted this…just the day before yesterday I had a conversation with total strangers about how Satan’s job is to kill, steal and destroy…the world is crazy…for sure!

The “Transwoman movement ” is a prime example of Satan’s work…being a man is such a wonderful gift (equally so for women) because GOD made us in HIS IMAGE.

We as Christians are to “pick up our cross and carry it daily “….I had to learn in my own life that…it’s not about what “I ” want…it’s about serving CHRIST!!!

Do I always want to do it….No…Am I always better off when I do it what I know to be right!!

I have (and continue) to make mistakes…but I bring them to CHRIST!

    Love you my brother Walt!!
You are a gift in my Journey!

  3. In my flesh, I want to argue with the confused of this world, then the Spirit reminds me that I am to be the aroma of Christ to God among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing 2Cor2:14-15. I don’t get to choose when I am to be a fragrance or an odor. In my heart I want to be the letter of the law and condemn those confused individuals, but the Spirit of the law says to love them as I have loved you. The letter kills and the Spirit gives life. 2Cor3:6
Thank you Walt, as I sit in enemy territory (Starbucks) your words are the perfect companion to my devotions.

    1. I know what you mean Eric. We can’t let the craziness around us get us off focus. The world is blinded. That’s why the confusion. Lord, let us point others to you so you can change them from the inside. Let us be that sweet aroma that draws them to You!

  4. When I look at what is propagated here in America (it’s not like this globally; albeit unknown to many) I cannot help but reflect on how sinful and confused I was as a non-believer. This has given me a tremendous amount of grace for the lost and a boldness to share why I placed my trust in Him so many years ago. I’m always reminded; “Where sin doth abound; grace doth super-abound”. Let’s go and love them (whomever that may be) to an eternity spent with Him, Christ. Thanks for sharing, Wally. You always have a word of life to give to the listener.

  5. Hi Walt, I haven’t done blogging or responded to one, so hopefully I do this right so you can see it. When 2020 came around people thought it was a year that we could see clearly. Then all the crazy in almost every part of our lives. I think God did uncover things that have been going on for some time. Walt this blog shines a light into that darkness. We need to go to war on our knees with our hearts and with our pens. Remember together we are 1000x stronger than apart. Spead the light of God’s truth and love. Blessings.

    1. Thanks Rick for your encouraging words. Yes, we are in a spiritual battle against the powers of darkness. You’re so right. We need to go to war on our knees with our hearts and with our pens. We can’t keep silent. We must expose the evil that is harming others. Lord, give us the courage to be bold as we shine Your light in this corrupt world. Use us to encourage Your people. Be glorified in all we say and do.
