A Life Transformed

Nowhere is Christ’s beauty more magnified than through a life He has transformed. Marci and I have many friends whose broken lives seemed irreparable until Christ healed them. I’m convinced Christ is God because over and over I’ve seen what only He can do. He changes people’s very nature!

Our friend Binush is one of those people.

Binush is from India, the son of a highly respected Christian minister. As a young man, Binush wanted nothing to do with Jesus. He grew his hair long, joined a rock band and became enslaved to alcohol and opioids. He was a broken man, living for himself.

His Hindu girlfriend, Indira, began pursuing Jesus and became a believer. She told Binush for her to stay in the relationship he would have to give up his sinful lifestyle and become a follower of Jesus too. Binush made a superficial change and they got married.

As Binush continued in his addiction, Indira continued to love and pray for him. Her unwavering faith in Christ got her through the pain Binush’s choices had inflicted on their marriage.

Indira’s career eventually brought her to America, leaving Binush in India. More importantly, she left him with God.

Through some incredible events, (like nearly getting killed in a train accident) Binush humbled himself, surrendered his life to Christ and was delivered from his addiction. A new life had begun.

Transformed by the presence of the Holy Spirit, Binush moved to California and reunited with Indira. Fast forward to today. They now have two wonderful children and run a global ministry that has helped thousands break free from addiction through the power of Christ. They also started schools in India for children and orphans affected by HIV & addiction.

When I asked Binush if I could share their story, he said, “I still have a long way to go in my soul transformation and only Indira knows the hell she’s been through and how wretched I am. Her testimony of putting up with me is actually the greater testimony.”

I have ministered closely with Binush and have seen how God powerfully uses him to set captives free. He and Indira are two of the most humble people Marci and I have ever known. We are honored to be their friends and partners in their ministry.

Christ displays His beauty through broken vessels. He shines through our cracks and weaknesses so He gets all the glory. What a mighty God we serve!

“We now have this light shining in our hearts, but we ourselves are like fragile clay jars containing this great treasure. This makes it clear that our great power is from God, not from ourselves.” 2 Corinthians 4:7

  1. More awesome work from the Father. We have so many daily blessings if we aren’t to busy looking at the little negative things that are usually made by ourselves. Praise Jesus

  3. We overcome the world by the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony.
Each story given by a soul who has been redeemed, reconciled, and restored in Christ brings glory to Father. Praise be to God for their living epistles.

    1. Thanks for responding Eddie. You are right. It’s a great story. Nobody writes one like God. Your story is just as powerful because the story is about God. He is the hero of our stories! Love you brother!

  5. Binush & Indira are the most selfless servants of God that I’ve ever met!👫🏽 I met Binush when I went to Bangalore India in 1991 to videotape his dad’s ministry. He was about 18 and a musician. He told me that all he wanted to do in life was be in a band & play music. His dad, burdened by his son’s waywardness, asked me to pray for God to get a hold of Binush’s heart.

And so by God’s grace & Indira’s eventual ultimatum, Binush was totally transformed by the power of God, & he’s never looked back!👍 I never cease to be amazed at how mightily God has used this dear couple to reach so many lost & addicted people! Never have so few done so much with so little! As the song says, “Little becomes much when you place it in the Master’s hands!”✝️ I saw that firsthand in 2018 when I returned to India after 27yrs to celebrate LCI’s 15th Anniversary!👏🏼

My wife, Linda, & I count it an honor & a privilege to have supported his dad’s, & eventually his ministry for almost 32 years now. We’ve also served on the board directors of Life Challenge International (LCI) ministry for many years now.

To God be the glory, Great Things He✝️ has done…”
