Now I See It!

My grandkids love to look through binoculars. There is something fun about seeing things far away that were impossible to see before. It’s like a superpower!

The awe inspiring beauty of Jesus is impossible to totally take in. It needs to be magnified. We need superpower vision to see how lovely He is.

Come, Holy Spirit. The divine magnifier!

Scripture says what “no eye has seen”, God now reveals, “by His Spirit.” 1 Corinthians 2:9-10

Did you catch that? Without the Holy Spirit we can’t see the wonderfulness of God.

King David prayed, “One thing I ask from the LORD, this only do I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to gaze on the beauty of the LORD and to seek him in his temple”. Psalm 27:4

To gaze is to stare. Do you ever take time and stare at Jesus? If we don’t stare at Him, we will spend our time staring at inferior things. Like ourselves, or our problems. I’ve done way too much of that!

I need to stare more at the cross. Christ’s crucifixion seems so ugly, until I realize it was love that held Him there. Take time to stare at Jesus suffering on the cross. See His pain. Feel His love.

I need to gaze more at the empty tomb. It shows me that death couldn’t stop Jesus from being with me. Take time to stare at the empty tomb and think how that affects your future.

I need to focus more on what life will be like ten million years from now, when I will be with Jesus face to face, overwhelmed by His desire to spend eternity with me!

Now do you see it? Do you see the beauty of His unfailing love for you? “With unfailing love I have drawn you to myself.” Jeremiah 31:3

God wants to draw us so close to Him that we can feel His loving embrace, like a couple dancing in each others arms. “As a bridegroom rejoices over his bride, so will your God rejoice over you.” Isaiah 62:5. The word there for “rejoice” means to spin around wildly with excitement and joy. See God dancing and twirling with delight over you! Is there any sight more beautiful?

May the beauty of Christ be magnified in your heart today. May we echo the words of John when he wrote, “We have seen His glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.” John 1:14.

Jesus, You are so beautiful. Thank You for the magnifying work of the Holy Spirit who enables us to see what “no eye has seen.” Thank You for showing us the Father’s unfailing love. May we reflect Your love on earth, so others will see the beauty we’ve been so privileged to see. Amen!

“No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him. But it was to us that God revealed these things by his Spirit.” 1 Corinthians 2:9-10

“We were eyewitnesses of his majesty.” 2 Peter‬ ‭1‬:‭16‬ ‭

All of us, gazing with unveiled face on the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory.” 2 Corinthians 3:18

  1. “…and the things of earth will grow strangely dim, in the light of His glory and grace.” Jesus is the grandest glorious one and He grows on you, in you, the more you delight in His graces.

    1. Thanks for commenting Brad. How are Tara and Caleb doing?

I’ve been reading and listening to a messianic Jew named Rabbi Kirt Schneider. He talks a lot about how important it is for us to know the Jewish roots to our faith. Really has been faith building for me!

Have a blessed Resurrection Sunday brother. Long live the Lamb!👑

  2. How deep God’s love is! How high and wide. No matter how powerful the telescope or microscope you use, you will never see the end. It goes on forever with new details emerging at every level.

    1. So well put Daniel! The dimensions of God’s love are infinite. Only His children can begin to grasp it.
I love how Paul puts it when he says . . .

None of the rulers of this age understood it, for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. However, as it is written:

      “What no eye has seen,
      what no ear has heard,
and what no human mind has conceived”—
the things God has prepared for those who love him—
these are the things God has revealed to us by his Spirit.

The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God. 1 Corinthians 2:8-10

Thank You Lord, for giving us the Holy Spirit to reveal how deep Your love is!
