Evil is rising, but do not be afraid, for there’s good news.
“Where sin increased, God’s kindness increased even more.” Romans 5:20
Yes! My Bible tells me not to worry about the rise of wickedness in the last days, because evil is no match for God’s kindness. Darkness can never extinguish the light—it can only make it appear brighter. Evil will not overcome us, but instead, we overcome evil by doing good.
That’s what Jesus did.
“And you know that God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power. Then Jesus went around doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with him.” Acts 10:38
What an amazing verse! Even more incredible is that Jesus has sent his followers to go and do the same! We can be Jesus to others by doing good, and helping them get free from the lies the devil has bound them with.
I keep thinking of our friend Riley. She was hating her life, depressed and alone, until two young girls showed her the love of Jesus. Now, Riley is a new person, experiencing God’s joy, and learning to walk in the power of the Holy Spirit! (You can read her story here.)
Scripture tells us evil is going to keep getting worse before Jesus returns. We can’t let the darkness overwhelm us and take us out of the fight for the souls of those who don’t know Christ yet.
Instead, let’s invite the Holy Spirit to fill and empower us to love all people—especially those we don’t like, and who don’t like us. That’s the way of Jesus!
Hell is tormenting the minds and hearts of people everywhere. Let’s be like Jesus and go love the hell out of them! Then watch in awe as He refills their hearts with His amazing love!
“If you love only those who love you, why should you get credit for that? Even sinners love those who love them! And if you do good only to those who do good to you, why should you get credit? Even sinners do that much! “Love your enemies! Do good to them. Lend to them without expecting to be repaid. Then your reward from heaven will be very great, and you will truly be acting as children of the Most High, for he is kind to those who are unthankful and wicked. You must be compassionate, just as your Father is compassionate.” Luke 6:32-33, 35-36
