We were at the park with the grandkids feeding the ducks, climbing trees and hittting wiffle balls.
Several children asked if they could play ball with us. Ian, a 7 year old, was still wearing his baseball uniform from an earlier game.
I asked Ian how his game went. He asked me if I knew what an MVP was. He wanted me to know he had been voted Most Valuable Player of his game that morning. As he started hitting balls I soon realized why he was MVP!
No matter our age, we all want to be recognized as valuable. When we discover our value, our sense of self-worth rises and life is a lot more fun.
Good news! Our value isn’t determined by how well we play ball or succeed in life. Our worth is based on what someone is willing to pay for us.
The Father saw our value and purchased us for Himself. Jesus paid the highest price when He died on the cross to pay our ransom.
Others may not see your value but the only opinion that really matters is God’s. He calls us His Masterpiece. That means we are the Most Valuable Piece of all His creation. That’s an MVP title worth celebrating!
Father, help us to see our value through Your eyes!
